Couple die as trailer hits car along Lagos/Ibadan expressway

Mr and Mrs Olugbuyi

A couple– Mr and Mrs Rotimi Olugbuyi– lost their lives in an auto accident along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway at the weekend.
The death of the couple, who were employees of the Lagos State Ministry of Information, was confirmed on Monday by the State Commissioner for Information, Mr Aderemi Ibirogba.
Ibirogba described the incident as saddening, adding that it was a big loss to the state public service.
The commissioner commiserated with the families of the deceased, and prayed for the peaceful repose of the departed souls.
A staff of the ministry, who craved anonymity, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the deceased were killed when the car in which they were travelling from Ibadan lost control, somersaulted and collided with a trailer on the other side of the expressway.
The staff explained that their bodies were identified through their identity cards by officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), who mobilised to the scene.

“They have been buried in their residence in Mowe– along the same Lagos-Ibadan highway. They were buried together in the same grave on Sunday.
“It was a sad incident. We will greatly miss them, especially as they were nice to everybody,” the source added.
