The Police in Osun said on Tuesday that it had commenced investigation into the birth of a headless child at Sekona, Ede South Local Government Area of the state.
Mrs Folasade Odoro, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Osogbo.
The birth of the mystery child on Friday had been attracting residents of the area to Sekona.
Mrs Bunmi Kazeem, who was delivered of the headless child, had three other children before remarrying.
Investigation revealed that the woman underwent a scan during the pregnancy twice which revealed that the child was headless.
Odoro said investigation, including an autopsy report, had revealed that the child was born headless.
She, however, said the police would continue to investigate the matter inspite of the fact that the baby had been buried to ascertain if there was any foul play.
