Rafa Benitez was in bullish mood following his side’s excellent comeback to draw 2-2 at Old Trafford against Manchester United in the quarter-final of the FA Cup.“We should have won the game,” he announced. “United are lucky to still be in the cup.“We did a great game and deserved to win. In the first half we made two mistakes and conceded two goals. But after that we had some good chances in the counter-attack. In the second half we had lots of chances and it’s a pity we did not score.“We did a great game in the second half and we were on top of them. We showed passion and commitment.“We played good football, lots of positives. The notion that United would tire after their midweek defeat against Real Madrid, was ridiculed by Benitez who retorted: “I thought you were joking,” he said to the journalist who suggested it.“They played on a Tuesday and we played on Thursday in Romania.“They had everything in their favour.“I am a professional, I know which of my players would be tired after we went to Romania, The substitutions ( I made) changed the game.“I knew that I would have to change players. Hazard is a player of quality who can change a game on his own and Mikel had fresh legs.”
