Angelina Jolie Donates Money to Pakistani Teen

At the Women in the World Summit in New York Thursday, actress Angelina Jolie spoke passionately about Malala Yousafzai – the 15-year-old Pakistani girl shot in the head by the Taliban because she wanted to go to school.
“And here’s what the gunman and the Taliban accomplished on that day,” Jolie said. “They shot her at point blank range in the head and it made her stronger. In a brutal attempt to silence her voice, it grew louder -  and she more resolute…calling on the entire world not just Pakistan to ensure the right for  every girl  in the world to an education. It is my right she said…it is our right.”
“Today I’m going to announce the happiest moment of my life and that is the first grant of the Malala fund. In Swat, in my motherland. We are going to educate 40 girls, and I want all of you to  support the Malala fund and let us turn 40 girls into 40 million girls,” said Malala, who decided the first grant would go to educate girls, ages five to 12, who are engaged in domestic labor instead of going to school.
And Angelina Jolie is helping Malala do just that.  Jolie  donated an additional $200,000 to the Malala Fund last night. “It’s a modest beginning for a big dream,” said Jolie
Very good gesture, Jolie. Visit www.malala.org for more information on this grant
