Nigeria: Seven Killed, 52 Houses Burnt As Anambra, Kogi Clash Over Oil Wells

The boundary dispute between the Enugu-Otu Aguleri and their Ashonwo/Odeke neighbours in Ibaji Local government area of Kogi state has escalated as about seven persons are said to have been killed and over fifty two houses burnt on Tuesday.

Since the commissioning of the Orient Petroleum Resources facilities in Aguleri-Out late last year by President Goodluck Jonathan for exploitation of the oil wells in that area the Ibaji people have been laying claim that the area belong to them.

I wonder why our government allows things to deteriorate to this level.
