25,000 Ultra-Orthodox Jews attend wedding ceremony where bride remained veiled throughout

Tens of thousands of Ultra-Orthodox Jews have attended the wedding of the eldest grandson of the leader of the Belz Hasidic sect, in Jerusalem.

Up to 25,000 guests watched on as Shalom Roke’ach, who recently turned 18, was married to Hannah Batya Penet, who wore a diamond-encrusted traditional white dress and remained veiled throughout the ceremony.

The Belz Hasidic is one of the largest Hasidic sects in the world, with the lavish and lengthy wedding drawing thousands of guests from the US and Europe.
