An air force helicopter returning from a rescue mission in flood-ravaged northern India hit the side of a mountain and fell into a river today, killing eight people, officials said.

Topless Femen protesters arrested after targetting the motorcade of the Tunisian Prime Minister

Bare-breasted members of the feminist group Femen targeted the motorcade of Tunisian Prime Minister Ali Larayedh to protest the jailing of group members in Tunis.

As the Tunisian motorcade left following a visit to European Union headquarters, two women climbed atop a diplomatic car and two others chanted slogans.

Security officials dragged the women off the car, and all four ran away from the scene.

It seems these topless protesters have come to stay.

Obama will NOT visit Kenya on his Africa trip

When President Barack Obama arrives in Africa this week, there will be one notable omission from his travel itinerary: Kenya, the birthplace of his father and home to many of his relatives.

Concerns about Kenya's political situation have trumped Obama's family ties.

Kenya's new president is facing charges of crimes against humanity in the International Criminal Court, accused of orchestrating the violence that marred the country's 2007 election.

The president will instead visit Senegal, South Africa and Tanzania, all countries that fit more neatly into the democracy and good governance message he'll tout during his week-long trip.

Obama, first lady Michelle Obama and daughters Malia and Sasha are scheduled to depart Washington Wednesday morning.

Effects of Chemotherapy: Painful sex, low libido, and no more orgasms

One taboo question oncologists rarely asks their cancer patients is: How is your sex life?

Kristen Howard

A 31-year-old woman who was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma in 2011, and suffered pain during sex and a loss of libido after chemotherapy, is hoping to change this stigma.

'This was something I was totally clueless on,' New York native Kristen Howard explained to ABC News. 'It took me a really long time to realize that the sexual side effects I was having had anything to do with chemo. I just sort of assumed it was more psychological, more mental than anything else.'

Let's talk about sex: Kristen Howard, 31, was diagnosed with cancer in 2011; after chemotherapy she suffered pain during sex and a loss of libido, and she hopes more women and doctors will talk about these side effects
Kristen Howard, before Chemo
Mrs Howard, who was a newlywed when she was diagnosed with cancer, said that hair loss from treatment was far less troubling than the side effects her doctors never mentioned: Vaginal dryness, pain during sex, a decreased ability to reach orgasm and a deflated libido.

'Women who are getting chemo often notice decreased sexual desire,' explains the American Cancer Society. 'Physical side effects, such as upset stomach, tiredness, and weakness, can leave little energy for relationships.'

BBM app to be on other platforms other than Blackberry

Yes, it sounds too good to be true, but pinging would no longer be exclusive to BlackBerry smartphones. This is not because of some technological breakthrough, nor is it due to any government regulation; the makers, formerly called Research in Motion, now BlackBerry, have decided to make the BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) a multi-platform application.

BlackBerry said it would initially offer texts, photo messages and group sharing functions on devices running Google’s Android and Apple’s iOS operating systems from “the summer”, adding that it planned to roll out screen sharing, voice and video calls - all without charge - later in the year.
The move could prove disruptive to Skype, Whatsapp and other rivals.
The company added that for the app to work iPhone users would need at least iOS 6 and Android users the Ice Cream Sandwich version of Google’s software. There was no mention of Windows Phone, the software which runs the Nokia Lumia series and some HTC phones.
According to a BBC report, the BlackBerry chief executive, Thorsten Heins, revealed the surprise news at the end of his presentation at the firm’s annual developers conference in Orlando, Florida, early last week.
I just hope RIM know what they are doing!

Research: Tomatoes could ease night-times for prostate patients by relieving pressure on the bladder

An antioxidant has been found in tomatoes which reduces the enlargement of the prostate caused by age

Tomatoes have already been credited with a host of health benefits – and now another one can be added to the list.

Lycopene, the antioxidant which makes tomatoes red, has been found to reduce age-related enlargement of the prostate and thereby pressure on the bladder.

The revelation will bring comfort to those men troubled by the need to visit the toilet frequently, especially at night.

Tomatoes – packed with vitamins, natural anti-inflammatories and other goodies – have been previously identified as helping to combat cardiovascular disease, stroke and prostate cancer.

The latest benefit emerged from research in Queensland, Australia.

A three-month study was carried out into the effect of lycopene in combination with other natural compounds.

Violent images in movies, TV or computer games CAN act as triggers for aggression, says new report

Grand Theft Auto IV was a critically-acclaimed 18-rated game, but there were concerns about younger players emulating the violence they saw on-screen

Violent TV, films and video games do increase aggression, an international panel of experts has said, as they warn parents to keep an eye on what their children are watching.

The report for the The International Society for Research on Aggression (IRSA) concluded that that evidence shows that the consumption of media violence can act as a trigger for aggressive thoughts or feelings already stored.

They claim exposure to violent images in different media, such as movies and video games, increases the relative risk of aggression - defined as intentional harm to another person verbally or physically.

The panel also warn parents that a ratings system is no substitute for the watchful eye of a parent.

A Tibetan macaque has entered the record books after successfully undergoing a liver transplant using an organ taken from a cloned pig.

The Xijing Hospital in Xi'an, China, announced that it made the successful liver transplant from the pig to a monkey on Thursday.

The transplant took place on 28 May and the macaque is now in a stable enough condition for the transplant to be considered a success

Experts said that the success of this operation is a breakthrough in the field of major organ transplant surgeries.

Doctors at the Chinese hospital had attempted the transplant earlier in May with a different Tibetan macaque and the liver from transgenic pig but the monkey died two days after the operation.

Saudi prince sues Forbes for libel because they said he was only worth $20billion in magazine's Rich List

A Saudi prince is suing Forbes magazine for libel because it said he was only worth $20billion in its annual rich list instead of $30billion.
Saudi Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal says Forbes magazine libelled him when they estimated his worth at $20billion instead of $30billion

Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, one of the world's richest businessmen, claims the magazine underestimated his wealth by £9.6billion when it placed him at 26th in this year's list.
Being listed as worth $29.6billion would have placed him in the list's top ten.

Alwaleed accused Forbes of 'flawed and inaccurate, displays bias against Middle East investors and financial institutions' in an interview with the Sunday Telegraph in March.

The prince has now brought libel action against the magazine's publisher Randall Lane and two journalists in the High Court in London, reports the Guardian.

He will claim that the Rich List caused serious harm to his reputation and to his company Kingdom Holdings' finances.
His company Kingdom Holdings controls investments including stakes in Apple, Facebook, Twitter and Rupert Murdoch's News Corp.

Forget passwords - you could soon be unlocking your phone by wrinkling your nose or sticking out your tongue

Google has filed a patent that could let users unlock their smartphones and tablets using facial expressions rather than typing in passwords.

The latest Google Android devices already have a built-in Face Unlock feature that uses facial recognition to unlock their handsets, but this patent would take the technology a step further adding additional 'liveness' features.

When Google launched Face Unlock in 2011, as part of Android Ice Cream Sandwich, it was criticised by security experts because it could be bypassed by holding static photos up to the phone or tablet's camera.

In the update to Android Jelly Bean in July 2012, Google added a 'liveness' check in an attempt to prevent these static images being used to gain access to devices.
This meant a user would have to blink while using Face Unlock to prove they were alive.

However, even this could be bypassed using clever photo editing tricks.
According to Google's latest U.S patent, the new system would require users to pull a specific, predeterminded facial expression.
If a patent filed by Google is approved, it could mean users would be able to unlock their smartphones by pulling faces such as frowning, smiling, poking out their tongue, wrinkling their nose, blinking and so on. The technology would compare the facial expression pulled with a previously captured photo and if the expressions matched, the user would be allowed access to their device

Children exclusively fed breast milk for at least three months have up to 30 per cent extra growth in the key parts of the brain which control language, emotion, and understanding, say scientists.

The study of under-fours showed children who have breast milk as part of their diet have a clear advantage when it comes to brain development.

Research carried out at Brown University, in the U.S., found that by the time the babies had reached their second birthday a discernible difference could be seen in their brain structure.

The European landfill directive means that this type of 'waste disposal would be illegal in Europe -  since 2006 EU rules have banned the disposal of tyres in landfill sites, leaving about 480,000 tonnes of recyclable shredded rubber each year
In Britain all car and truck tyres must be recovered, recycled and reused.

100m Sprint: Olympic champion Usain Bolt beaten by American

The Olympic champion sprinter Usain Bolt- dubbed the fast man on the planet - shocked his fans by losing a race yesterday.
Bolt, who looked tense before the race even started, tried to shrug off his defeat at the hand of Justin Gatlin

The 26-year-old Jamaican, who holds the world 100m record, came second in a 100m sprint in Rome to 31-year-old American sprinter, Justin Gatlin.

Bolt, who finished in 9.95 seconds compared to Gatlin's 9.94, has not lost a 100m race since 2010, when he was suffering from a back injury.

The shock defeat occurred last night at the Rome Golden Gala Diamond League meeting in front of thousands of spectators.

Bolt, who holds the current world record after running the 100m in 9.58 seconds in 2009, started the race well, but then stumbled and could not regain his lead on Gatlin, a former drugs cheat.

Afterwards Bolt, who refers to himself as 'a legend', tried to shrug off his performance as a jubilant Gatlin danced around the track to celebrate his victory.

The Rainshader's canopy protects users from the wind and rain without obstructing their view and during tests in gale force seven - around 40mph - winds the umbrella didn't once blow inside out.

It was designed by Warwickshire-based company Hospitality Umbrellas and has been designed not to drip on other people or poke passers-by in the face.

The Rainshader has a cut-away front, which was based on the design of a motorbike helmet.

This means people can see out the front of the Rainshader while protecting their head and shoulders from the wind and rain.

It's design also means it doesn't obstruct the view of people standing nearby, or drip onto their shoulders.

The Rainshader can also be used to protect users from the sun.

Football: Rooney and Fellaini top Arsenal's transfer hitlist as Wenger prepares to splash the cash

Wayne Rooney remains Arsenal's dream signing this summer after chief executive Ivan Gazidis gave the green light to mammoth summer spree.
London bound? Wayne Rooney is one of a number of high-profile players being chased by Arsenal

A number of sports reporters revealed last month how the Gunners were prepared to smash through all their financial boundaries to land Rooney this summer.

Arsenal hope a package of around £170,000-per-week and a multi-million pound signing on fee - plus the security of a five year contract - could persuade Rooney to take a pay cut from his current £250,000-per-week deal at Old Trafford, that has two years left to run.

Everton's Marouane Fellaini and Bayern Munich's Luis Gustavo have both been monitored by Arsenal's scouting network.
