Football: Gatecrasher John Terry does it again!

As Branislav Ivanovic headed home for Chelsea's last-gasp winner in the Europa League final, skipper John Terry must have rushed to the changing rooms in an instant.

Terry, who was unable to play in the 2-1 win over Benfica because of an ankle injury, came out after the final whistle in full kit to help lift the trophy at the Amsterdam ArenA.

But it's not the first time. Terry did the same in the Champions League final last year after Chelsea's penalty shootout win over Bayern Munich on their own turf.

Bayern Munich players were understandably in party mood after their final home game of the season, but the reaction of winger Franck Ribery suggests some of his team-mates took it too far.

Ribery, a Muslim, had told players to keep the alcohol away from him as they celebrated on the pitch after the game. It seems some didn't quite get the message.

The 'p***** off' Frenchman was chased around the pitch before Jerome Boateng got to him and dunked a huge glass of beer over his head.

Bayern Munich's incredible season continued when they handed Barcelona one of their heaviest defeats for years, hammering the Catalans 4-0 in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final on Tuesday.

Thomas Mueller headed the recently-crowned Bundesliga champions ahead in the 25th minute and Mario Gomez turned in the second goal amid suspicions of offside early in the second half.

Arjen Robben added a third in the 73rd minute and Mueller then grabbed his second of the night as Barca collapsed dramatically in a game where Lionel Messi, returning from a hamstring injury, made little impact.

In doing so, Bayern avenged their defeat by the same score in the quarter-finals four years ago.

Robben nearly put Bayern ahead in the third minute after a clever backheel by Javi Martinez gave him a clear scoring chance but he shot straight at keeper Victor Valdes.

Barca then put together some intricate passing moves although they rarely threatened to score and Bayern had the next chance when a goalbound Philipp Lahm shot was blocked by defender Gerard Pique.

Pique also appeared to handle when he cleared the resulting corner but the referee was not interested.

It was not long before Bayern, who won the Bundesliga with six games to spare, went ahead with the help of an overhit corner by Franck Ribery.

His effort found Robben on the other side of the penalty area and a rare right-footed cross from the Dutchman found Dante whose header fell for Mueller to stoop and score.

Barca's most dangerous first-half effort was a low Pedro cross which Dante was lucky not to turn into his own net.

Bayern extended their lead from another corner as Mueller at the back post headed back into the middle for Gomez to turn the ball in at close range after 49 minutes although he may have been fractionally offside.

The Germans threatened another as shots from Mueller and Ribery flashed wide and then Robben headed wide from a free kick.

Barca, often reduced to long balls forward, managed to impose some of their possession football but were vulnerable on the break.

Robben exploited the gaps when he burst down the right for the third and, with Barca still reeling, Mueller blasted a David Alaba pass into the net for the fourth goal.

The rout equalled Barca's worst ever defeat in European competition. 

Football: Mario Götze to join Bayern Munich from Borussia Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund player Mario Götze has agreed to join Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich next season.

The attacking midfielder's release clause in his contract has been activated, according to his agent Volker Struth and his club, and he will join the German champions on 1 July. The fee is reportedly set at €37m (£31.5m).

Dortmund's Facebook page confirmed the news early on Tuesday, although the club stressed at the time that they had yet to hear anything official from the newly-crowned Bundesliga champions.

The statement read: "Mario Götze's agent Volker Struth told us a few days ago that the player wishes to make use of his release clause and on July 1, 2013 move to Bayern Munich."

Hans-Joachim Watzke, Borussia Dortmund's CEO, also stated: "We are obviously disappointed beyond measure, but emphasise that both Mario and his advisers have behaved within the terms of the contract. From Bayern Munich there has been nothing official on this matter up to this date."

Shortly afterwards Bayern did make an official announcment, in a statement on their official website which read: "Bayern Munich confirm that the club have reached an agreement with national team player Mario Götze that he will play for Bayern Munich from 1 July 2013.

"Bayern are prepared to meet the release clause agreed between Borussia Dortmund and Mario Götze."

The nine-times European champions Real Madrid have ended Manchester United's run as the world's most valuable football team, according to an annual survey released by Forbes on Wednesday.

The value of Real surged 76% to $3.3bn (£2.17bn) from a year ago, Forbes said in a statement.United, who have won the English title a record 19 times and are controlled by the American Glazer family, rose 42% to $3.2bn but dropped to second on the list for the first time since Forbes began tracking football finances in 2004.

Real's Spanish rivals Barcelona ($2.6bn), Arsenal ($1.33bn) and the German side Bayern Munich ($1.31bn) completed the top five.The top 20 football teams are worth an average of $968m, an increase of 26% on last year, Forbes said.

UEFA DRAW: Bayern, Barcelona, Dortmund ETC

Spanish and German teams were kept apart for the semi-finals of the Champions League, as European football’s governing body UEFA made the draw for this year’s last four games.

In the champions league nine time champions Real Madrid take 1997 winners Borrissia Dortmund for a place in the final while Catalan giants Barcelona square off against last year’s losing finalist Bayern Munich.

The games will be played on April 23rd and 24th while the second leg takes place on April the 30th.While in the Europa league Chelsea will keep a date with Swiss side FC Basel and Turkish club Fernabache will be locking horns with Portuguese powerhouse Benfica.

The matches will be played on April the 25th while the second leg comes up on April the 2nd. This year’s UEFA Champions league final will be held at Wembley stadium in London on May 25.

Bayern Munich power past Juventus and into Champions League semi-finals

Bayern it is then. As had seemed likely right from the first 27 seconds of this tie, when David Alaba scored the opening goal in Bavaria last week, the German champions progressed to the semi-finals of the Champions League with a fluid, robust and enjoyably controlled 2-0 victory in Turin to complete a 4-0 win on aggregate.

It would be pushing it to say Bayern swaggered through this tie: they didn't need to, instead exposing the limitations of Antonio Conte's energetic Juventus simply by turning up and being reliably Bayern. Here they were driven on by Bastian Schweinsteiger, shading control of midfield from Andrea Pirlo as the match went on, and by a fine display of lone-centre-forward craft from Mario Mandzukic, scorer of the knockout-blow first goal in Turin.

For all Bayern's annihilating dominance in the first leg, this had seemed likely to be a more fraught occasion at the tightly packed Juventus Stadium, a high-spec new-build fortress constructed on the site of the old Stadio Delle Alpi. The 2-0 smothering in Bavaria was a traumatic experience for Italy's trophy club, a night when this self-consciously muscular Juventus was outpressed and outrun as well as outpassed.

  Bayern Munich, edgiest of all-conquering Euro-giants, may yet wilt again in the Champions League. But not just yet, it seems, after a dominant first-leg display from Jupp Heynckes's wonderfully mobile and muscular team brought a 2-0 defeat – as close to a 2-0 thrashing as one is likely to see at this stage – of a disappointing Juventus.

Bayern arrived on the back of a 9-2 swatting aside of Hamburg and there was much talk in Munich of the need to avoid self-immolating complacency. They did not disappoint with the end goals from David Alaba and Thomas Müller

Bayern's home ground remains one of Europe's more arresting out-of-town super-stadia, befitting one of Europe's powerhouses. It was a boisterous home crowd throughout, the noise in the opening exchanges rising a notch whenever Andrea Pirlo had the ball as Juve's playmaker drew the whistles and jeers befitting one of German football's recent bogeyman.

It is safe to say that they got the job done but Juventus cannot be written off just yet.
