Football Twitter thread : Peter Drury’s poetry

When you listen to a beauty, you can tell. What makes it even better, if it comes in form of poetry.

The best that can happen as a football enthusiast, if you have beautiful poetry as commentary to support the already scintillating show- mouth watering to say the least.

I have extracted some football commentaries by none other than Peter Drury. Read and listen and you would sure be convinced.

Twitter thread: How did Nigeria get her name?

If this thread is anything to go by, my education might be a waste. It means we are constantly lied to. True history has to be introduced to Nigerian schools.

Kim Kardashian hides her bump under oversized shirt as she claims she wants to be left alone

It seems Kim Kardashian just can't help herself.
Pregnant pause: Kim Kardashian hid her growing baby bump in a large white blouse after tweeting that she was tired of the public scrutiny

Having embarked on a Twitter rant about wanting to have a break from the spotlight on Thursday, the reality star then proceeded to tweet a series of selfies showing her on her daily routine.

They included one of her dressed in an oversized white shirt and glittering necklace, which she went on to wear for a dinner date in Beverly Hills.

The mother-to-be kept it casual in flip flops and leggings while trying to camouflage her baby bump in a billowing white shirt dress.
As always her hair was perfect and her make-up was impeccable.

Attracting more gazes Kim's way was an elaborate necklace that looked like it weighed several pounds.

Twitter #Music App Launches for iPhone and Web

After testing the app with music artists and influencers, Twitter #Music will be available starting today at http://music.twitter.com and as a separate app for the iPhone through the App Store.
So what does the service do? Well, it does what you might expect from a music app from Twitter -- it helps you find music that's popular on Twitter and music based on the bands you follow. The app is centered around four pages or tabs, which you can swipe through to access.
The Popular page shows you new music that's trending across Twitter while the Emerging tab shows "hidden talent found in tweets." While those two parts feed you information about what the collective Twitterverse is jamming to, the last two focus on who you follow and your personal music taste.
The Suggested tab shows artists you might like based on the artists you follow on the service and who they follow. And finally the #NowPlaying tab shows songs your friends are listening to or tweeting about. For instance, if your friend tweets that they are listening to a song by Justin Bieber, that song will show up on that page.

Survey:MORE evidence chat apps are set to take over from Facebook and Twitter

Chat and messaging apps are increasing replacing social networking sites such as Facebook and Teitter, new figures have claimed.

A study of 5,000 US teens by PiperJaffray found 10% fewer named Facebook as their 'most important' site compared to a year ago.
The teens surveyed were also less interested in Twitter, YouTube, Google+, Flickr, and Tumblr - with only Pinterest showing growth.

The study also looked at which services teens were talking about - and found messaging services such as Kik and Snapchat were popular, alongside Vine, Twitters video-blogging service, messageboard 4chan and shopping site Wanelo.
The report is the latest to claim that Facebook and Twitter face major competition from chat services.

Google has this week played down rumours it is set to buy the WhatsApp service for a reported $1bn, while it is also believed to developing its own chat app called Babel

Party goes awry after "tweet" invitation

Kevin and Lesley Norman's home (inset) in Enderby, Leicestershire, has been trashed after the six person party held by their daughter Brodie (left), 16, turned into a 100-teen riot.

Youths ransacked bedrooms, hurled the family's possessions out of windows, emptied wardrobes and smashed ornaments in the house and garden, including terracotta pots and a £200 antique chair. Cooking oil, chilli sauce, mustard and flour were strewn throughout the £350,000 home and teenagers were seen dancing on the roof.

The moral of this piece is the kids being closely monitored. Parents cannot just believe or assume their kids would be fine- some form of watch must be put in place. Details of events like house parties, cannot be placed on public space like those of Facebook and twitter- it is a serious security risk

Technology: Introducing Anti-kidnap bracelets that tweet

Kidnapped aid workers could be saved by a new hi-tech bracelet which uses Facebook and Twitter to alert millions of people to a hostage crisis.

The device has been fitted with satellite navigation technology and is linked to social media so it can inform on an attack within seconds. The first Natalia Project bracelets are to be handed out this week in a bid to save lives in war zones where the risk of kidnap is high.

The Civil Rights Defenders campaign group, which has produced the bracelets, said the chunky gadgets can be triggered manually when an aid worker or civil rights activist comes under threat, or automatically if the bracelet is forcefully removed.

Each device is fitted with mobile phone technology which enables it to immediately send out a message to any near-by contacts and to the Civil Rights Defenders headquarters where the attack can be verified before a message is transmitted on social networking sites. At the same time, the bracelets issue the wearer's real-time GPS location so rescue teams can locate where the attack took place and its timing.

April fools' day: Marketing tool?

The April Fools’ Day is dead. Or at least the gentle jester of the common folk has been converted into a corporate colossus controlled by global marketing executives.Companies around the world, from Google to BMW and Sony, have adopted the tradition of goading the gullible on April 1 to show their lighter sides and steal some free publicity.

Google Inc extended a practice dating back a decade or so in poking fun at its own ubiquity: it introduced a database of smells, pretended that it was shutting down its YouTube service, offered a treasure-hunting mode and old parchment style navigation on Google Maps, and unveiled Gmail Blue, a new version of its email service that is ... blue.

In Japan, telecoms company KDDI offered a mobile phone that was actually a bed - to save ever having to get up.

And Sony Corp went to the dogs, rather literally, introducing a TV that only displays pictures in dog-friendly colors and has a remote with paw-enabled buttons.

A blog at Twitter, or rather “twttr”, said users who wanted to use vowels would have to pay $5 a month. “Trd th nw Twttr yt? Mr tm fr mr twts!” was one of the blog's more easily deciphered examples.

Procter and Gamble Co's mouthwash brand Scope offered a new “Bacon” flavor with taglines like “For breath that sizzles” and the appetizing “Indulge your meat tooth.”German carmaker BMW offered British readers excited at the impending arrival of a royal baby the P.R.A.M. (Postnatal Royal Auto Mobile) complete with picture of a sportily styled buggy and corgis at Windsor Castle - inquiries to Joe.Kingzbmw.co.uk.

Kim said she would never ‘tweet something like that.’

American reality TV star, Kim Kardashian, has denied tweeting hate words about Nigeria and her women.

A “photoshopped” image of a parody twitter handle had shown how Kardashian tweeted about Nigeria being such a disgusting country with women who look like apes.

“I see there is a photo shopped tweet floating around, supposedly something I said about Nigeria. That was not me or my feelings,” she said.“The fake tweet is very disturbing and I will never ever tweet something like that,” she added.

Kim Kardashian recently visited Nigeria for a valentine show and left a love-hate relationship with her Nigerian fans after reports went round she was paid half a million dollars to show up at the event and hardly stayed or made any significant contribution to the show.

Osaze has another twitter outburst at West Brom

Albion have already confirmed the Nigeria international will be dealt with internally after his Twitter attacks on the club on Sunday.Odemwingie hit out at being only a substitute in recent games and for the club allegedly questioning his commitment.Sources close to the Barclays Premier League outfit have indicated Albion will not sack Odemwingie, Press Association Sport understands.Odemwingie is likely to face another fine after being hit in the pocket during January for a series of social networking outbursts. But Albion will not ban the former Lokomotiv Moscow and Lille forward from using Twitter although any activity by players is governed by the club’s disciplinary code of conduct.
