Fighting couple strip naked in the middle of Chinese street

It was a fierce and very public row that was just too hot to handle.Standing in the middle of the street screaming at each, this young Chinese couple found the only way to cool things down was to remove their clothes.

So they did just that with first the man and then the woman performing a striptease for motorists and passers-by in Dongguan, Guangdong Province.

Amazingly, few took little notice even when the girl stood stark naked in the middle of the street.But witness Jiang Dayu did have the foresight to snap the scenes on his mobile phone.

'The couple started to quarrel at the roadside, then moved to the middle of the street', he said.'They completely ignored the traffic that was driving past even though people were beeping their horns and having to weave around them.

A bar owner in China who erected a statue of two Buddhas locked in a passionate embrace has been ordered to take it down after local officials deemed it too sexy for public display.

The four-metre high effigy is the centrepiece of Yanyu pub - meaning 'to have a fling' in Chinese - in Lijiang city and features a female Buddha sitting on the lap of a male Buddha in the lotus position.

The father who tried to take his dead daughter's body on the bus in a bag because he couldn't afford a hearse

A Chinese father was caught attempting to smuggle his two-year-old daughter's body onto a bus in a travel bag after she died of hand, foot and mouth disease.

Yang Cheng, 35, and wife Lin Sun collected Li's remains from the morgue at Hefei Hospital, in Anhui province before carefully packing her into a large holdall.

They then went to the local bus station where they tried to board a vehicle travelling to their home town of Quqiu.

However, the plan was foiled when horrified staff put the bag through a security scanner and discovered the child's remains inside.

Police were called and Mr Yang was questioned. He told them he had resorted to the desperate measure after realised that he would not be able to afford a hearse. 

The man was eventually released without charge and hired a private cab to complete the two hour journey home.

'We are not wealthy and the undertakers wanted to charge us a fortune,' Mr Yang said.

The death toll from a powerful earthquake Saturday in southwest China's Sichuan province has climbed to more than 160 people, with more than 6,700 injured.

China's official Xinhua news agency says President Xi Jinping has ordered all-out measures to rescue victims and minimize casualties following the disaster.

Chinese officials called it a 7.0-magnitude quake, while the U.S. Geological Survey put the strength at 6.6. The quake occurred at a depth of 13 kilometers.

Aerial photos released by China's military and aired on state television showed individual houses in ruins and some stretches of the county seat and villages flattened into rubble.

Chinese tourism authorities have told travel agencies to call off some visits to North Korea, it has been reported, amid escalating tensions on the peninsula.
But other trips are to go ahead, companies in China have said.

The development came as the South's Yonhap news agency reported the North could launch several missiles without warning and at any time, citing national security officials who said satellite imagery showed more mobile launchers on the country's east coast in addition to the two already thought to have been deployed.

Any launches are expected to be tests, possibly timed to key dates in the North's political calendar – notably the upcoming anniversary of the birth of its founder, Kim Il-sung.

Despite the weeks of threats analysts say there is no sign of mass troop movements near the Korean border and point out that the North has a history of bellicose rhetoric.

"If history is any guide, in a few weeks' time things will calm down … It does not make sense to credulously take their fake belligerence at face value and give them the attention they want now," wrote Andrei Lankov of Kookmin University.

WHO Talks With China on Sending Bird Flu Team

The World Health Organization is talking with the Chinese government about sending international experts to China to help investigate a new bird flu strain that has sickened at least 24 people, killing seven of them.

A 64-year-old retired man in Shanghai became the latest victim of the H7N9 bird flu virus that had previously not been known to infect humans, the city government said Monday.The Shanghai government said the man died Sunday night, a week after first experiencing chills. He sought medical treatment last Wednesday for pneumonia-like conditions. By Sunday morning, his condition worsened, he was out of breath and was admitted to a ward for in-patient treatment. He died hours later.

Aside from the latest fatality in Shanghai, China reported two more cases of human infection of the H7N9 bird flu virus on Monday, raising the total number of cases to 24 — all in the eastern part of the country. Most of the patients have become severely ill, and seven of them have died, however milder infections may be going undetected.

Bird Flu Deaths In China Rise To Six

The death toll from a new strain of bird flu found in Shanghai, China has risen to six this week as the Chinese government staged a cull of thousands of birds in a thriving poultry market to prevent a potential spread of the disease.

Some 20,000 birds have been killed at the popular Huhaui bird market in the city after pigeons at smaller nearby markets were found to be infected with the disease.

Six people have now died of the new H7N9 strain of the disease from a total of 14 cases recorded since March.

Shanghai are also preventing any live animal imports into the city, which has a population of more than 23million people, and is also temporarily closing down other poultry markets.

China has started slaughtering all poultry at a Shanghai market after a new bird flu strain that has killed five people was detected in pigeons being sold there.

Health officials believe people are contracting the virus through direct contact with infected fowl and say there has been no evidence so far that the virus is spreading easily between people. Having a drink when we’re in a bad mood is something most people can relate to, but climbing on to an overhead power cable afterwards is a bit more unusual.

That was the excuse and response of one man in China after he had a few too many drinks last week, as his climbing antics were caught on camera and broadcast on state TV.The footage shows him dangling from the wires upside down from a height of around 9m (30ft) and moving sloth-like along the cables in Linfen, in northern China’s Shanxi province.

After the power was cut a firefighter climbed an electricity pole to attempt to coax the man down, but he refused to play ball.The drunken climber lost his grip and fell on to a second layer of wires below before finally giving up altogether and landing on a safety cushion installed by emergency services.

CCTV reported that the man miraculously escaped without any injuries, apart from an excessive amount of alcohol in his blood.
