Buckwild star dies of CO poisoning

Shain Gandee, the star of MTV's "Buckwild" reality show, died of carbon monoxide poisoning inside a Ford Bronco that was partially submerged in deep mud near his home in rural West Virginia, according to autopsy results released today.

Gandee, 21, starred in the series ""Buckwild," which followed the exploits of his friends and family.Gandee, his uncle, David Gandee, 48, and Donald Robert Myers, 27, were found dead inside the Bronco on Monday. He and his uncle were last seen around 3 a.m. Sunday at Larry's Bar where they told friends they were leaving to go four-wheeling.

Sad: MTV 'Buckwild' cast member found dead

A cast member of MTV reality show "Buckwild" was found dead in rural West Virginia on Monday after being reported missing by family members following a late-night session in a local bar.

Shain Gandee, 21, was found dead in a car along with two other men including his uncle David on Monday morning in Sissonville, Kanawha County, a spokeswoman for County Commissioner Kent Carper said.

Gandee was one of the lead cast members of "Buckwild," which follows a group of young adults living in rural West Virginia and has attracted some criticism for its portrayal of the cast's hard-partying ways.

MTV said it was "shocked and saddened" by Gandee's death. "Shain had a magnetic personality, with a passion for life that touched everyone he met and we will miss him dearly," MTV said in a statement.
