Reggae singer and KORA award winner, Austin Peters popularly known as King Wadada has dropped his latest album entitled, Omnipotent God even as he featured Rihana in one of the tracks. Among the songs in the 16-track album are Omnipotent God and You Are the One featuring American pop star, Rihana. The video of Omnipotent God was shot by Philip Trimmel Production and directed by Gadaf Films.
While expressing concerns on the dearth of record labels in Nigeria, Wadada said that the industry has been marred with godfatherism such that artistes are no longer signed on record labels based on their productivity. “The break that I had from music was as a result of what our industry has turned into. There is no label that is taking care of its artistes; even the few that are trying to float are signing on artistes based on sentiment.
I refused to join many record labels because they wanted me to do worldly music. Artistes should work hard to improve their style and not allow any record label to persuade them into singing another type of music,” he said.
