Nigeria: Miracle clinic and midwife uncovered

Desope Cecilia, 61, and Joy Ibe, 43, were among victims of a midwife, Oby George, who promised them ‘miracle’ twins and triplets respectively.

While the midwife was being paraded before journalists at the Lagos State Police Command, Ikeja, on Friday, the victims told their stories, with faces covered for security reasons.

The victims were given herbs after parting with large sums of money running into millions. So, within the nine-month period that their tummies protruded like that of pregnant women, they visited no hospital because they were advised against it.

Nine months later, they were back at the 'miracle clinic' to be delivered of their babies. Lo and behold, they were delivered of twins and triplets depending on the 'fees' paid. These deliveries were done after some concoctions were consumed.

We would keep our fingers crossed as the police gets to the bottom of this case.
