Vice President to get N2 billion house

Abuja- As if we have not heard enough in this impoverished nation, another N2 billion has been voted for a new home for the Vice President of Nigeria, Namadi Sambo.

According to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Bala Mohammed, a N50 billion budget has been approved for the FCT and only the VP’s house will gulp N2 Billion while those of the Senate President, David Mark, the deputy, Ike Ekweremadu, the Speaker of the house of Representatives, Hon. Aminu Tambuwal along with his deputy, Emeka Ihedioha will cost N300 million each.

It has become exasperating for me that almost every year, we spend money that we ‘do not’ have on these public servants. Where have they been residing? What happened to the houses that were used by the last VP and House of Assembly members? Is there any hope for this country?
